Our Story

Our Journey

The seed of social development was sprouted in Amit Narayan somewhere in mid of 2005. It was one of the periods where his entire family was going through pain, trauma, financial crisis and turbulence. The boy at the age of 11 was going through this and made him see the world from a different angle. He can now feel the sorrow, understand the importance of money, the power of unity and social environment. He started exploring why he was only going through this, but his journey led to the discovery of various other questions whose answer was not known to him. One day during his travels he saw a group of children below the age of 8 with dirty and torn clothes working in dhaba. That one incident popped up one question which he still persists with him is why children at an early age are working in dhaba, why their parents are not sending them to school, don’t these kids have their own dreams?

The journey continues with the financial crisis, one thing which he knew and believed was the education is the only way to come out of it. He worked hard on his education and completed his engineering in 2014. After engineering, he got placed at Mindtree Ltd, Bangalore and worked under his mentor Prashant Mehra in Mindtree.org (then IGotGarbage) project and entered the corporate world. Life in the IT world was very good for 1 year until the question started arising again in his mind. These questions like what am I doing? Children are still working in dhaba, people in Bihar are still in poverty, they don’t have a good education, health, livelihood and I am still sitting in the AC office and enjoying the corporate life. These questions kept coming in his mind and forcing him to do something for them.

Then at the end of 2017, his mentor advised and supported him to explore and find out what & how you want to bring changes in Bihar people’s lives. He visited the various social organizations to understand their work and impact and finally, he came to Patna in 2018 January to start his exploration. Within 3 weeks, having no network and clarity on what, where and how to start, he lost himself. He then went to Vipassana training and then he decided to stay in a govt school and try to understand the grass root situation. His first attempt failed due to the fear in Bodh Gaya and then in 2 attempts he convinced HM and got permission to teach children in Adarsh Middle School, Nalanda near the ruins of Nalanda University. He stayed there for 1 year and ran a project called Let’s Develop India and did lots of activities and tried to understand the education system from the grass level to the top level.

In 2019, he came up with a solution to a playschool concept in rural areas to bring huge change in children’s development. On 13 Aug 2019, let’s Develop India project was successfully registered as ChangeStation.
